Isabel Trabulo: Silkscreen on Glass

 

Silkscreen technique has the potential of being applied in several mediums such as paper, textile, wood, etc. This demonstration serves the purpose of showing a new type of support on which it can be applied, Glass. Coming across new specificities and advantages.
Through this process combining silk-screening and glasswork there is a peculiar combination of two very distinct fields of work.
This demonstration aims to spread knowledge concerning the glass surface as a medium for applying silkscreen showing all the steps of the way midst process, using plain flat glass and printing over it with appropriate ink.
Showing the advantages of this medium and it’s main characteristic.
Transparency allows overlapping of layers while permitting testing to preview results, doing and redoing before it is permanent, as it needs to be baked in the end.
