Kazimierz Pawlak: Glass sandblasting technique – graphics on glass.

Program of workshops will allow students to learn the process of preparing a design and making graphics on the glass.

Sandblasting glass workshops will be realized in the following points : preparation of glass plates, making graphic design, foils preparation and transfer images on foil, cutting and sandblasting graphic design, cleaning of the glass plates and eventual making a print on paper.

The result will be made glass plate with graphic design /as a specific object/  but also the use of prepared plates for printing images on paper.

This printing technique extends the practical knowledge of students and gives more artistic expression.

Duration

1^st day:

short introduction to the techniques of sandblasting glass

presentation of examples from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Glass Dep. /pictures/

choice of themes and iconography collect

first sketches

2^ndday:

preparation of projects

preparation of glass plates

prepare a draft for special foil for sandblasting / handmade or plotter technique/

transfer of the project on a glass plate

cutting and preparation for sandblasting

3^rd day

sandbasting

project how expose plates /optional/

4^th day

sandblasting

cleaning and washing

realization framing or bases for the glass tiles

exhibition of completed projects
