Catarina Marques: Photopolymer – a Nontoxic Photo Intaglio Process

Nowadays there are several photographic processes of transferring images onto printmaking plates.

The photopolymer plate already comes ready to be sensitized through UV light.

In this demo it will be shown how to sensitize these plates, how to simply develop them through warm water and how to print them in a very similar way than that of traditional etching plates.

Examples will be shown concerning one of its most important aspects which is the time you take to sensitize your image and this varies  according to the characteristics of the image.

Also, its potential for innovative application will be proven by presenting some concrete prints.
