Wilma Lok
Wilma Lok (1951, Eindhoven, Netherlands) graduated in Art and Art History at the now called Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten – Akademie voor Beeldende Vorming of Tilburg. In 1974-1975, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs granted her a scholarship. Since 1985, she teaches Intaglio Printmaking and Experimental Graphic Techniques at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Perugia. In 1998, she has been awarded as ‘Academician of Merit’ for the concept and realization of a successful fundraising project on behalf of the restoration of the Fontana Maggiore by the Pisano brothers; the re-edition of a 19th century volume and re-printing of its illustrating original etchings. In 1997-1998, she makes part of the project Grand Renaissance in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. As ‘Artist in Residence’, she exposes at the UICA, teaches Printmaking at Kendall College of Art and Design and juries the 70th annual Art Competition of State Michigan’s artists at Muskegan Museum of Modern Art.
Wilma Lok lives in Umbria and works in Italy and the Netherlands.
Her artistic activities are multiform: Intaglio (Etching) and experimental Printmaking, Artist books, Installations and Painting.
