WILMA LOK

 

Wilma Lok (1951, Eindhoven, Netherlands) graduated at the Akademie voor Beeldende Vorming, Tilburg, Holland. The Italian Government granted her a scholarship in 1974. Since 1985 she teaches Intaglio and Experimental Printmaking at the Accademia di Belle ArtiABA, Perugia. In 1992, she works out with the town administration of Perugia and ABA, the concept and realization of a successful fundraising Editorial Project of the Massari prints (1834) on behalf of the restoration of the Fontana Maggiore by the Pisano brothers (1278). In 1997-1998, she participates at the project Grand Renaissance in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. As ‘Artist in Residence’, she cures the fountain show, exposes her own work at UICA, teaches Printmaking at Kendall College of Art & Design and juries the 70th annual Art Competition of State Michigan’s artists. Characteristic is the use of paper in her work: Intaglio and Experimental Printmaking, Artist books, Installations; large scale Painting and Portraits on paper, cotton and cheesecloth. Her work is present in permanent collections and she has shown her work in personal and group exhibitions in Europe, USA and China.
