Ana Margarida Rocha: Foscagem por jato de areia

Sandblasting is a course that aims to make an approach to engraving on glass surfaces.

Light operates today in the art field as an interaction between space and surface, between the beholder and the works. The workshop will exploring light effects on glass surface .

Firstly, we will discuss the research process where the technological procedure to manufacture sandblasting glasses will be described. A description that is essential to underline the importance of the study developed.

Secondly we will briefly argue the theoretical and partical approach to the art pieces developed and the association art/ light.

Duration: 4 days (3 h per day) from 17h to 20h

Detailed program:

1) Preparation of glass plates

2) Foils preparation (diverse categories)

3) Transfer images on foil

4) Cutting

5) Sandblasting

The result will be a glass plate, glass sculpture object
