Aleksandra Janik

Aleksandra Janik was born in 1971 in Katowice, Poland.

She received her MFA in printmaking from the Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, Poland in 1996.

Since 2010 she has held the position of associate professor at the Studio of Digital and Experimental Printmaking in the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, where she is currently a Vice Dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media Art.

She is the winner of several prizes and mentions including the following: the First Prize at the Contrasts Photography Exhibition, SohoPhoto Gallery, New York, USA (2010); the Jury prize at the 15th German International Exhibition of Graphic Art, Frechen, Germany (2008); the Jury Prize at the 14th Tallinn Print Triennale, Estonia (2007); the Jury prize at the 4th Sapporo International Print Biennale, Japan (1998).
